Softball Recap: Mount Union Trojans vs. Mifflin County Huskies
After flying high against Curwensville last Thursday, Mount Union came back down to earth. The Mount Union Trojans took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mifflin County Huskies on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Mount Union of the 4-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
Mount Union saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Payton Williams, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Mount Union now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Mifflin County, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Union will square off against Williamsburg at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Mount Union is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Mifflin County, they will head out on the road to face off against Chambersburg at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
