Football Recap: Gavin Anders' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Abington Heights over North Pocono + How To Watch

If Abington Heights was feeling good fresh off their 45-7 takedown of Valley View last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Comets took a hard 24-10 fall against the North Pocono Trojans on Saturday. Despite 67 more yards than the Trojans, the Comets couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Abington Heights' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Anders, who picked up 237 receiving yards. With that strong performance, Anders is now averaging an impressive 112 receiving yards per game. Another signal caller making a difference was Nick Bradley, who threw for 316 yards on 25 of 37 attempts.

Cole West was his usual excellent self, rushing for 105 yards and one TD on only six carries for North Pocono. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Briskie, who rushed for 129 yards and one touchdown.

Having lost for the first time this season, Abington Heights fell to 4-1. As for North Pocono, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Abington Heights didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-14 loss against Delaware Valley on the 27th. As for North Pocono, they have also already played their next game, a 35-14 win against Dallas on the 26th.
