Recap: Hillcrest Huskies vs. Cottonwood Colts
The Hillcrest Huskies lost against the Cottonwood Colts back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Hillcrest lost to Cottonwood at home by a decisive 68-51 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hillcrest in their matchups with Cottonwood: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Rhett Robinson, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. That's the first time this season that Robinson scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anton Mahler, who scored 12 points.
Cottonwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Peter Oguama, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Ryan Nielson, who scored 14 points.
Hillcrest now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Cottonwood, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-5.
Hillcrest will head out on the road to take on Tooele at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Tooele focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Thursday. As for Cottonwood, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Stansbury at 7:00 p.m.
