Softball Game Preview: Nimitz Cougars vs. MacArthur Generals

Nimitz is 0-10 against MacArthur since April of 2019 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Generals at 6:30 p.m. Nimitz has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Milby hit Nimitz with a five-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars wound up with the same score they had in their last game (13-7), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 12 runs the game before, MacArthur was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They lost 7-1 to Huntsville.

Trinity Chacon made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

MacArthur now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Nimitz, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Nimitz suffered a grim 9-3 defeat to MacArthur in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
