Meanwhile, Newton South beat Concord-Carlisle 3-1 on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won six in a row.

Newton South's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Waltham, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-12.
