St. John Paul II Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 60-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the Highland Prep West HORNETS.
Brayden Patton was his usual excellent self, going 5 of 12 en route to 13 points in addition to five assists and five steals for Highland Prep West. Patton has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brandon Burton, who posted eight points along with five assists and four steals.
St. John Paul II Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Highland Prep West, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season.
St. John Paul II Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 71-61 win against Antelope on the 28th. Highland Prep West has also already played their next contest, a 51-38 victory against Wickenburg on the 28th.
