Volleyball Recap: Chelsea Academy Takes a Loss

If Chelsea Academy was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Oakcrest last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights came up short against The Covenant School Eagles on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Knights were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: The Covenant School scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-17, 25-20.

Olivia Barvick paced Chelsea Academy's offense, picking up seven kills. Barvick really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with ten. Malta Klassen controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

With the defeat, Chelsea Academy broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 11-6. As for The Covenant School, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Chelsea Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Fredericksburg Christian on the 21st. As for The Covenant School, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 loss against Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association on the 21st.
