Baseball Recap: Garden Spot Has No Trouble Against J.P. Mccaskey

Garden Spot won the last time they faced J.P. McCaskey and things went their way on Thursday too. The Spartans blew past the Red Tornado 14-2. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Caden Simonis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on zero hits.

On the hitting side, Madix Bracken and Owen Gonzalez did most of the damage at the plate: Bracken scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Gonzalez scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Speers, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-4. As for J.P. McCaskey, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coincidentally, Garden Spot and J.P. McCaskey will both be playing Manheim Central the next time they take the field. The Red Tornado will head out to face the Barons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Spartans will host them at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
