Baseball Game Preview: Saddleback Roadrunners vs. Coastal Christian Conquerors

The Saddleback Roadrunners will take on the Coastal Christian Conquerors at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Saddleback is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They never let Ambassador get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Roadrunners.

Diego Enriquez was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Andy Aguilar was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ricardo Marquez, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.

Saddleback always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .652. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Coastal Christian was able to grind out a solid win over Calvary Chapel on Thursday, taking the game 12-7.

Coastal Christian pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Saddleback, their victory bumped their record up to 14-10-1.
