Recap: Trenton Catholic Academy vs. Westampton Tech Panthers
Trenton Catholic Academy waltzed into their game Wednesday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 59-50 victory over Westampton Tech. Given Trenton Catholic Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while Westampton Tech is ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Daelan Dickerson, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Alexander Jeanty was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Trenton Catholic Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Westampton Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trenton Catholic Academy will take on Doane Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Doane Academy is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Westampton Tech, they will be playing at home against Pennsauken at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
