Sam Rayburn is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Manvel and fell 71-16. While losing is never fun, the Texans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1234th, while the Mavericks are ranked 92nd).

Meanwhile, Dawson came tearing into Wednesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 33 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game with ease, bagging a 72-41 victory over the Trojans. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 matches by 22 points or more this season.

Dawson is also on a roll lately: they've won 20 of their last 21 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 29-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points per game. As for Sam Rayburn, their loss dropped their record down to 1-23.
