East Rowan is on a four-game streak of home wins, while West Stanly is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. It'll be an old-fashioned rodeo when East Rowan Mustangs duke it out with West Stanly Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Rowan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.

East Rowan is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Northwest Cabarrus just ended the team's ten-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 8-7.

Harrison Ailshie put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up a single earned run in ten consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Krys Hernandez and Zeke Stewart stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hernandez went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run, while Stewart went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that Hernandez hit this season.

Meanwhile, West Stanly won against Forest Hills on Friday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Everything went the Colts' way against Parkwood as they made off with a 12-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Colts, who have now won six contests by nine runs or more so far this season.

West Stanly has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for East Rowan, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.

East Rowan beat West Stanly 9-6 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Colts have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
