Soccer Game Preview: Godley vs. Liberty

The Godley Wildcats will face off against the Liberty Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Godley sitting on six straight wins and Liberty on 15.

Godley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They never let Castleberry get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Considering Godley have won eight games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Rylie Graves and Lexi Tyler scored all three of Godley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 20 goals.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Liberty sidestepped Graham for a 1-0 win. Give Liberty's defense some credit: that's the team's 15th straight shutout.

Godley's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Liberty, their victory bumped their record up to 18-1-3.
