Soccer Game Preview: May River vs. Bishop England

May River is 0-3 against Bishop England since February of 2024 but things could change on Tuesday. The Sharks are taking a road trip to face off against the Battling Bishops at 6:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with May River sitting on eight straight wins and Bishop England on seven.

May River is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Hartsville a 10-0 shutout. Rebekah Hoover was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Bishop England got the win against Gilbert on Friday by a conclusive 4-0. Bishop England might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by three goals or more this season.

May River's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three contests. As for Bishop England, their victory bumped their record up to 19-4.

May River couldn't quite get it done against Bishop England in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 3-1. Can the Sharks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
