Basketball Recap: Utica Takes a Loss

Utica lost against Chippewa Valley back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Utica Chieftains were dealt a 66-26 loss at the hands of the Chippewa Valley Big Reds. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 481st, while the Big Reds are ranked 89th).

Utica's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Chippewa Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Utica will welcome Cousino at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chippewa Valley, they will be playing at home against South Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Chippewa Valley's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
