Softball Game Preview: Mildred Eagles vs. Frankston Indians

Mildred has gone a perfect 4-0 against Frankston recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Indians at 6:00 p.m.

Mildred came up short against Cross Roads on Friday, falling 7-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alena Ware made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Frankston came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Indians have won 11 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Frankston's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Mildred, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.

Everything went Mildred's way against Frankston in their previous meeting back in April of 2016, as Mildred made off with an 11-0 win. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
