Basketball Recap: Orangefield Beats West Fork for Their Fourth Straight Win

Orangefield extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Jaden Scales. The Orangefield Bobcats walked away with a 73-64 win over the West Fork Gators on Friday thanks in part to Scales, who went 12 for 18 on his way to 34 points and five assists. Those 34 points gave him a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Thomas, who posted eight points in addition to six boards and five blocks. He has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played.

Orangefield is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for West Fork, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Orangefield won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Katy at 11:10 a.m. on Saturday. Orangefield knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Katy likes a good challenge. As for West Fork, they will host Liberty at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
