Baseball Recap: Cordova Gets the Win

Cordova won the last time they faced Grant and things went their way on Friday too. Cordova came out on top against Grant by a score of 6-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Nathaniel Jones was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

In other batting news, Levi Nyberg was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Cordova: the team is 4-0-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Noah Oxley, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Cordova's record now sits at 8-5-1. As for Grant, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
