Baseball Recap: McKeesport Takes a Loss

McKeesport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Gateway Gators. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 on Monday.

McKeesport saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Richard, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Caulan Smith also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

McKeesport's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Gateway, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, McKeesport will challenge Baldwin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Gateway, they will square off against Penn Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Gators will no doubt try to take advantage of.
