Baseball Recap: Alice Triumphs

Alice never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the King Mustangs 2-0. For the Coyotes, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Not much got past Ale Asevedo, who gave up just two hits to keep King off the board. Alice is 2-1 when Asevedo allowsthree or fewer hits, but 8-9-1 otherwise.

At the plate, Alice saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddex Carrillo, who went 1-for-3 with one double. That double was Carrillo's first of the season.

The victory got Alice back to even at 10-10-1. As for King, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13-1 record this season.

Alice will square off against Corpus Christi Moody at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for King, they will venture away from home to face off against Flour Bluff at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Flour Bluff's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so King's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
