Basketball Recap: Sierra Linda Skates Past San Luis with Ease

There's no place like home for Sierra Linda, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the San Luis Sidewinders 64-35. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Sierra Linda found their leader in sophomore Johnell Wright, who posted 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wright has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Nduwayezu, who had 11 points.

Sierra Linda's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for San Luis, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Sierra Linda and Copper Canyon will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Copper Canyon knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Sierra Linda likes a good challenge. As for San Luis, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 72-33 defeat against Shadow Ridge on the 13th.
