Baseball Recap: Western Christian Fighting Lancers vs. Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles
Western Christian had lost five straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 7-11 to make it six. They fell just short of the Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles by a score of 7-6. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-6 defeat on Tuesday.
Ethan Scofield was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. Will Stradley was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
As for Capistrano Valley Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.
