Caliche proved they can win big  on Friday (they won by three) and  on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Wray Eagles  3-2. The game snapped a strange streak: the last six times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.
 It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Caliche got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 17-25, 25-16, 21-25,  15-12.

 When it comes to explaining why Wray lost, don't look at  Karissa Peterson. Despite the final result, she  had 24  digs and two  aces. Peterson has been hot recently, having  posted 12 or more  digs the last three times she's  played.
Caliche pushed their record up to 14-7 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. As for Wray, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record  this season.
 Caliche and Wray could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage  in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Buffaloes (ranked 88th) will meet Fleming (ranked 18th)  at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. Meanwhile,  Wray will  face off against  Wiggins  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday with a big rank  disadvantage  (168 vs. 45).
