Recap: Wichita Defenders HomeSchool Defenders vs. St. Mary's Academy Crusaders
The Wichita Defenders HomeSchool Defenders suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 56-36 defeat at the hands of St. Mary's Academy. Wichita Defenders HomeSchool was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as St. Mary's Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Mary's Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Moats, who scored eight points along with eight steals. Isaac Engholm was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Wichita Defenders HomeSchool has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for St. Mary's Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wichita Defenders HomeSchool on the road again on Monday and play against Newton HomeSchool at 8:30 p.m. on January 29th. Hopefully Newton HomeSchool focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Friday. As for St. Mary's Academy, St. Mary's Academy and Wichita HomeSchool will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wichita HomeSchool is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
