Hidden Valley put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mazama Vikings a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.
Scarlett Gordon made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Sam Lesher was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aidriana Orellana, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Hidden Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Mazama, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.
