Softball Recap: Hidden Valley Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Hidden Valley put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mazama Vikings a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won four games by six runs or more so far this season.

Scarlett Gordon made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over six innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Sam Lesher was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aidriana Orellana, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Hidden Valley's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Mazama, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Hidden Valley will face off against rival Phoenix at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Mazama is set to square off against their familiar foe Klamath Union at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
