Volleyball Recap: Marquette Mustangs vs. Edwardsville Tigers
Marquette proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by three) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Edwardsville Tigers 2-1. The Mustangs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.
Marquette got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 30-32, 25-22.

Marquette can attribute much of their success to Tristan Chambliss, who had ten digs and two assists. That's the most digs Chambliss has posted over his last three contests. Brody Knittel also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.
When it comes to explaining why Edwardsville lost, don't look at Nicholas Paschall. Despite the final result, he had 19 assists and eight digs. Paschall has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last five times he's played.
Marquette's record now sits at 21-9. As for Edwardsville, their loss dropped their record down to 16-10.
Coincidentally, Marquette and Edwardsville will both be playing Lee's Summit North the next time they take the court. The Tigers will head out to face the Broncos at 5:15 p.m. on Friday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 6:15 p.m.
