Baseball Recap: Matanzas Takes a Loss

Matanzas fell victim to Palatka and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Palatka Panthers, falling 6-0. The loss leaves the Pirates still looking for their first win on the season.

Matanzas got a good showing from Daniel Reyes, who tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

Matanzas' defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Palatka, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Matanzas will challenge Menendez at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palatka, they will face off against P.K. Yonge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
