Basketball Recap: KIPP Esperanza's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

KIPP Esperanza had lost five straight headed into Tuesday's contest, but Eddie Whiteside didn't let it get to six. The KIPP Esperanza Eagles had just enough and edged the East Palo Alto Academy Bulldogs out 51-48 thanks in part to Whiteside, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game.

KIPP Esperanza's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-12. As for East Palo Alto Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. KIPP Esperanza will host KIPP San Jose Collegiate at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for East Palo Alto Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain View Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
