Football Recap: Apple Valley Starts off Right with Win over Orange Vista

Apple Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They strolled past the Orange Vista Coyotes with points to spare, taking the game 20-6. For the Sun Devils, this counts as revenge for the 20-17 victory the Coyotes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Noah Hardeman and Jacob Cabrera. Hardeman rushed for 90 yards and one TD on only 12 carries while Cabrera rushed for 80 yards. Those 90 rushing yards gave Hardeman a new career-high.

Coming up, Apple Valley is taking a road trip to take on Highland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Orange Vista, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Downey at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
