Football Recap: Apple Valley Starts Season with Victory at Home

Apple Valley took care of business in their home opener on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 20-6 win over the Orange Vista Coyotes. For the Sun Devils, this counts as revenge for the 20-17 victory the Coyotes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Noah Hardeman and Jacob Cabrera. Hardeman rushed for 90 yards and one score on only 12 carries while Cabrera rushed for 80 yards. Those 90 rushing yards gave Hardeman a new career-high.

Apple Valley didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 16-6 win against Highland on the 29th. As for Orange Vista, they have also already played their next match, a 35-34 loss against Downey on the 29th.
