Volleyball Recap: Leopold Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Advance came into Thursday's match looking for another win against Leopold, but Malia VanderMierden wouldn't allow it. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Hornets 3-2 with plenty of help from VanderMierden, who had 19 digs and four assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Leopold who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 22-25, 25-21, 20-25, 15-13.

Leopold is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That somehow still isn't as good as their 10-1-2 record this season. As for Advance, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.

Leopold wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Bowling Green on the 20th. As for Advance, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Woodland on the 19th.
