Basketball Game Preview: Cherokee Trail Cougars vs. Cherry Creek Bruins

Cherokee Trail hasn't had much luck against Cherry Creek recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cherokee Trail Cougars will head out to take on the Cherry Creek Bruins at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Cherokee Trail is headed into the match having just suffered their closest loss since January 19, 2024 on Wednesday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (58-56), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.

Meanwhile, Cherry Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 55-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of Eaglecrest. While losing is never fun, the Bruins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Raptors are ranked third).

Cherry Creek's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Cherokee Trail, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Cherokee Trail came up short against Cherry Creek when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 63-53. Can Cherokee Trail avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
