Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kennedy). They had just enough and edged out the North Hollywood Huskies 10-9 on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Jay Carmona looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Vetea Feliciano was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Joaquim Feliciano was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.
Kennedy's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for North Hollywood, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.
