Baseball Recap: Kingswood Oxford Takes a Loss

Kingswood Oxford fell victim to Loomis Chaffee School and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Pelicans by a score of 1-0. The match marked the first time this season in which the Wyverns were not able to get on the board.

Harry Engle was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

Kingswood Oxford's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Loomis Chaffee School, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingswood Oxford will square off against Marianapolis Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Loomis Chaffee School, they will take on Hotchkiss School at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
