Football Recap: Richland Comes Up Short

Richland and Leake Central squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Richland had to settle for second. They were dealt a 43-14 defeat at the hands of the Gators. The Rangers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-0.

Although Richland took the loss, they still got scores from Adrean Williams and Andruw Sanford.

Israel Ross had another great game (as he tends to do), picking up 78 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 54 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries for Leake Central. Javario Daley was another key rusher, rushing for 87 yards and one TD on only 11 carries.

Richland dropped their record down to 6-5 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Leake Central, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Richland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Leake Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against McComb at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Gators will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
