Soccer Game Preview: Centennial vs. Nolensville

The Centennial Cougars will head out to take on the Nolensville Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Centennial's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Centennial got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They skirted past Page 1-0. The win was all the more spectacular given Centennial's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Page are ranked 20th).

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Nolensville's offense. They came up short against Summit on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

Nolensville has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Centennial, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5-1 record.

Centennial was able to grind out a solid win over Nolensville when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
