There's no place like home for Woodlawn, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Wenonah Dragons on Monday. This was payback for the Colonels, who suffered a 15-2 loss the last time these two teams met.
Woodlawn got a massive performance out of Santerious Mccord, who scored a run and stole four bases while going 1-for-1. With that strong performance, Mccord is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Fernandez Sturdivant, who scored two runs and stole three bases.
The win got Woodlawn back to even at 2-2. As for Wenonah, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
Looking ahead, Woodlawn will host Carver Birmingham at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wenonah, they will head out on the road to square off against American Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. American Christian Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Wenonah surely won't give up without a fight.
