Basketball Game Preview: East Aces vs. Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders

The East Aces will face off against the Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

East will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Bishop Carroll, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. East snuck past Bishop Carroll with a 56-52 win on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Aces' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 40th).

Meanwhile, Kapaun Mt. Carmel earned a 56-43 win over South on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Crusaders.

East is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.6 points per game. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2-1.

East came up short against Kapaun Mt. Carmel when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 61-51. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Kapaun Mt.
