Football Recap: Odem Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Odem and Cotulla squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Odem had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Cowboys 50-20. Despite 142 more yards than the Cowboys, the Owls couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Odem still got an impressive performance from John Hinojosa, who rushed for 190 yards and three TDs, and also picked up 31 receiving yards. Hinojosa's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 103 rushing yards. Martin Castillo helped out on the ground, rushing for 90 yards.

Rene Barrera had a dynamite game For Cotulla., rushing for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only five carries. Those 111 rushing yards gave Barrera a new career-high. Frank Torres was another key player, rushing for 75 yards and one score on only seven carries.

Odem moved to 9-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Cotulla, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

As of now, neither Odem nor the Cowboys have any future games scheduled.
