Softball Preview: Maumee Panthers vs. Otsego Knights
The Maumee Panthers will head out on the road to challenge the Otsego Knights at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Maumee is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Maumee gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 10-6 win over Perkins.
Maumee got a massive performance out of Autumn Gugger, who went 3-for-5 with a home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Gugger is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's hit at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Lilly Duling, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with a home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Otsego had to settle for a 7-5 defeat against Russell on Tuesday. Otsego has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Maumee now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Otsego, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
