Daviess County skates past Apollo with ease

Recap: Daviess County Panthers vs. Apollo Eagles

Make it seven blowout wins for the Daviess County Panthers this season. They really took it to Apollo for the full four quarters, racking up a 64-30 victory at home. The win was familiar territory for Daviess County who now have four in a row.

Daviess County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Briley Henry out in front who scored 15 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Henry scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Lane, who scored 20 points along with three steals.

Despite the loss, Apollo still got an impressive performance from Jenna Dant, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. Dant hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games.

Daviess County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Apollo, they bumped their record down to 3-12 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Daviess County won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Bullitt East at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Bullitt East is ranked 43rd, while Daviess County is ranked 34th). As for Apollo, they will head out on the road to face off against Owensboro Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
