Softball Recap: Patrick Henry Has No Trouble Against Leipsic

Patrick Henry won the last time they faced Leipsic and things went their way on Friday too. The Patriots blew past the Vikings 13-3. Considering the Patriots have won ten games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kasey Nelson was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elisiana Wyandt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

Patrick Henry hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in four consecutive matches.

Patrick Henry pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.3 runs over those games. As for Leipsic, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Looking ahead, Patrick Henry will venture away from home to challenge Delta at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Patriots are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Leipsic, they will host McComb at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
