Milpitas hadn't beaten Piedmont Hills on the road since February 25, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them on Thursday. The Trojans walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Pirates. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 15-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Dominique Walker made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Walker was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.

In other batting news, Chloe Cabrera was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Sophia Delgado was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Milpitas has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Milpitas will take on Sequoia at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Piedmont Hills, they are headed away from home for the first time to challenge Leigh at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
