Basketball Recap: Sibley-Ocheyedan Comes Up Short

Sibley-Ocheyedan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They took a 55-41 bruising from the Central Lyon Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Generals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-58 back in December of 2024.

Sibley-Ocheyedan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Central Lyon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-12.

Sibley-Ocheyedan and Central Lyon could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Iowa Rankings. Sibley-Ocheyedan (ranked 328th) will meet West Lyon (ranked 36th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Central Lyon will challenge Spirit Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Monday down 241 places (285 vs. 44).
