Softball Recap: Sissonville Takes a Loss

Sissonville fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Winfield on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Generals by a score of 4-2. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their meetings with the Generals: they've now lost seven in a row.

Jozey Wilson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sissonville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayme Robinson, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Sissonville's defeat dropped their record down to 21-5. As for Winfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Sissonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winfield, they will take on Logan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Generals' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
