Basketball Recap: Whetstone Takes a Loss

Whetstone was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 61-53 to the Mifflin Punchers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-51 back in December of 2024.

Mifflin found their leader in sophomore Myles Jarrett, who went 7 for 13 en route to 25 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Kesahn Bouttry, who posted 12 points.

Whetstone's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Mifflin, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.

Whetstone will venture away from home to square off against Northland at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Mifflin, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-52 defeat against Franklin Heights on the 18th.
