Model proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 42) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They slipped by the Heard County Braves 66-65. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blue Devils have posted since February 15, 2025.

Heard County's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was TJ Reives, who shot 60% from the field en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Cameron Latimer, who posted 14 points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Model has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. As for Heard County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Model is set to take on their familiar foe Haralson County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Heard County will square off against rival Temple at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
