Baseball Recap: Magnolia Takes a Loss

Magnolia's last matchup with Santiago could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Friday. The Sentinels came up short against the Cavaliers, falling 13-1. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cavaliers this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-0 defeat last Wednesday.

Magnolia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Moniz, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Santiago Cortez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Magnolia has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Santiago, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-10.

Magnolia has already played their next match, a 10-2 defeat against Bolsa Grande on the 8th. As for Santiago, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 17-1 victory against Santa Ana Valley on the 8th.
