Morton is 8-2 against Pekin since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Potters will be playing in front of their home fans against the Dragons at 4:15 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Morton has 11 straight wins, Pekin has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Morton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Canton on Thursday. The Potters' pitchers stepped up to hand the Little Giants a 10-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Potters considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Morton got a great performance from Alex Mckie as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched. Mckie has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Andrew Brooks was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jude Parnham, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Pekin fell victim to Rochester and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 13-0 to the Rockets.
Morton's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Pekin, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Morton hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Pekin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
