Volleyball Recap: Golden Valley Takes a Loss

Golden Valley lost against El Capitan on April 1st, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars fell 3-1 to the Gauchos. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Gauchos 25-20 in the first set.

Golden Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 20-25, 25-14, 25-23, 25-23.

Chai Her paced Golden Valley's offense, picking up 19 kills. Her got some help from Marc Her and his 25 assists. Finally, Emanuel Alcala-Nopales kept Golden Valley's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for Golden Valley and nudges their season record down to 22-16. As for El Capitan, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Golden Valley nor El Capitan have any future games scheduled.
